BOYS 16U
The 16U year of Boys youth hockey is considered the most important for development and in securing the next steps of their journey. Many of the top teams have players who have given verbal commitment to Universities and plan on going to play Junior Hockey the following year making this the last year of Youth Hockey. 7 of the boys on the 16s are committed.
Coaches at BK stay with the year they coach, so this will be a new team for Dan Collins who has consistently coached the 16U Boys team at BK Selects for the last 5 years.
The core group of the team has already tasted greatness by winning a National Championship in their 14s year. While they have lost some players, they have added 9 players who hope to make an impact.
GIRLS 19U
The journey for the girls is a little different. Following a more traditional High School to College path, they have less pressure and more opportunity for what is a still growing female sport. The student-athletes on the 19U girls team are some of the best Junior women’s players in the world. 12 seniors are committed to the top collegiate programs in the country.
With an equally impressive alumni group, the girls program is one of the strongest in the world, but they have yet to get over the hump of winning the National Championship, losing in the finals 5 of the last 7 years.
